Newbies are not helped with skill points, they are not helped with isk, they're not helped with hand holding. They're helped by giving them a proper tutorial that explains stuff properly, a long one, where this all is explained. And beyond that they're help with "stop being a giant massive pussy" attitude from both other players as the game. Sink or swim. |

No, you're not. It's just the two most obvious things to do, especially to people who are used to grind MMO's. But it certainly isn't the only thing to do. |

It's just the two most obvious things to do, especially to people who are used to grind MMO's. But it certainly isn't the only thing to do. i wasn't shown anything pvp related in tutorials (the new system may have changed), nothing about fitting ships, what scrams and points do, counter measures, different space and what sort of precautions you should take when traveling there. I was use to the mmo grind and would avoid it by using rl money as my income and cant remember being shown anything other than missions and mining
I'm almost always in Rookie. Lots of people ask the "what should I be doing" question and as long as I get the feeling that they have working braincells I'll show them a bunch of options they can do. While I'll agree with "the tutorial is limited" (because that's what I stated in the first post) it's not completely up to the game to spoon feed people "everything". Every newbie has access to the help channels, all they have to do is read it and/or participate. |

you get the skill, you inject it, then it takes time to train/absorb the info. Exactly he same thing, one is just faster than the other because one is a 90 min movie and the other is a long term MMO. If you lack the attention span for a long term MMO then don't play it.

This whole agenda, trying to create a consensus, has been pushed by coalition alts. It's also the reason why the new skills include Thermodynamics, there is no reason or use for a newbie to have that. All it does is create gank alts cheaper and faster. |

Perhaps you need to realise that you'er playing the wrong game and choose easiest option: leave. It's not like EVE will change overnight so you'll be miserable for a very long time, just doesn't make any sense. Don't like it? leave.
Bye! |

If CCP is smart enough to ignore the sulking bittervets and introduces skill packets sometime next spring, then my main issue with the game will have been resolved (or at least much ameliorated). I think I can wait that long. But your kind and compassionate advice is much appreciated nevertheless.
the problem with the non-effort PVE crowd is that they always want more. You create a lovely expansion that gives them 10 extra levels, lots of funky stuff and gear easily enough to last then 4-5 months. They'll devour it in 2 weeks bypassing all the lovingly created content, on purpose, to rush to the new end goal and then whine about how there is no content. As you said yourself: for now you'll be happy with skill packs, 2 months down the line you'll start whining about some other stuff. It'll never end.
People who understand and agree to the concept of a sandbox don't need this. They just need the sandbox to be in working order and reasonably balanced, the rest they (want to) do themselves. People who play a sandbox but refuse to agree to it are (apart from playing the wrong game) forever going to ask for things that the sandbox can not provide. |

It'll never end. Well, that's the human condition. I'm sure that as I advance in the game I will learn to whine about other thing, like Fozzie SOV or the Mittani's latest imperial ambitions or whatever... Right now, all that is pretty meaningless to me. I do know though that every time I fire up EVE and look at the skill queue I think "heck, this is tedious". I don't get that from anything else in the game for now. You know I missed this part when you first posted it, but it is rather telling as it shows you to be rather the special snowflake doesn't it. Me, me, me. That is how it is with you eh? I have no doubt you will continue to whine because that is the nature of the incompetent and lazy. "Give me a break because." I think we have found your problems, this is not the game for you. Go find a game you can grind on and play that. Grinding in Eve, if you insist on grinding, is usually for ISK. Of course you could look for ways to earn ISK without having to grind as well, but since you seem so enamored with it I'm guessing those methods will be beyond your ken.
I bought a great sports car for the driving enthusiast. Manual transmission and everything is adaptable like dampers, ride height, differential, stuff like that. But as it is a sports car it's always going to be on the sporty side so the ride is going to be firm whatever you do.
Then I decided that I don't like the firm ride because I use it for my daily commute, I'm really not interested in all the bells and whistles and, seriously, **** manual transmissions I want an auto. So I decided to send the manufacturer a letter where I complain about these obvious issues and that I just want to have a nice car to drive. I demand that they change my car from a sporty style into a more every day, easy going driver and replace the manual with an auto. And, oh yeah: I want it to be 4 door as well so they better change that.
Frankly I'm kinda surprised that they didn't sell me such a car in the first place even thought I personally made the choice of buying it, many brands have these cars so why not them? It's really just bad for business that they don't make every day cars for normal drivers because if they would change these sports cars into normal cars they'd sell a lot more! |

It's also used in the production of agrotoxics and studies show that almost all oceans and larger lakes are saturated with it, it's a really big problem. Perhaps we should start a campaign to create awareness amongst the general public, this needs to be stopped! |
